Sharon Tucker

Sharon is blessed not only with melody and well trained vocal chords, but sings with a sweet, distinctive voice that is synonymous with a family of very talented singing legends, including the classical singer Jimmy Tucker, her uncle; popular reggae/gospel singer Junior Tucker, her brother and Nikki Tucker, her sister.

Sharon definitely stands out as a performer.  Years of constant training and tuning her voice has rewarded her audiences with memorable performances.  On her tour of South Africa with gigs in Durban and Johannesburg, she was described with headlines like “incredible” and her styling compared to a song bird.  Janet Smith, writing for Culture Watch, wrote, "….for the uninhibited, the power of Jamaican songstress Sharon Tuckers voice welled tears in the eye. She sings about God and loving your brothers and sisters -- good values that are seldom practiced in this corner of the world."

For Sharon, performing live for celebrities is her forte - -whether it is for the Prime Minister's Gala for Ghanaian President, Agyckum Kufuor or Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, Cuban President, Fidel Castro, and other Heads of State for the Caribbean, or if it be at the massive gatherings of her brothers and sisters, she takes it all in stride and usually makes a lasting impression.  Her tours have included the Caribbean, North America, Europe and Africa.  Doing back up and stunts with the Soul Syndicate Band was one of her earlier exposes of the music in transition; there she gained a lot of experience.  She also did backing vocals with many veteran reggae acts like Bunny Wailer, Dennis Brown, Junior Delgado, Judy Mowatt and Junior Tucker, to name a few.

Her solo career was only a natural progression to such an illustrious background. Her debut album “Your Love,” included musicians like Freddie McGregor, Dalton Brownie and Sly Dunbar and was released in Japan by Overheat Records.  Her second album, "Pass It On," is perennial as the evergreen and as the voice that covers it. While living in London, she also did several singles for Jet Star Music.  She was also featured as part of a compilation album for London-based producer Adrian Sherwood with the likes of Sinead O'Connor, Junior Delgado, Little Roy and several European and African contributions.

Sharon has just completed her third album, “In Your Time,” which will be distributed digitally thru Itunes, Amazon, Napster and Rhapsody, via Zojak World Wide and will be released on December 2nd, 2010.  The album consists of 15 tracks, all attesting to her wonderful talent and the exceptional quality of the music.  She is the executive producer on this album and it will be released on her own label, Appy Music.  Some of the producers who worked on the album were the very talented Sly & Robbie, Rorey “One Pop” Baker, Christopher Birch,  Gibby, Steve Golding  and Kirk Bennett (Kirkledove).  She released and did videos of two singles from the album, “Give A Little Love ” (Ojambu Music/321 Strong) and “Caution” (Kirkledove), earlier this year, with both receiving strong radio and television airplay.

Sharon Tucker continues to mesmerize her audiences with her sweet melodic voice, her humbling personality and her experience as a true artist. Love her and be loved, listen to her and be absorbed -- if even for as long as it takes for her performance to end -- one thing is for sure, you will remember that you heard her.
