Sharp hails from the picturesque island of Jamaica a talented soccer player with a promising future, could not deny his undying love for the music. Sharp’s musical endeavors transcend way beyond being just an MC his musical background includes a B.A. in the Music Industry which he acquired from The College at Oneonta in New York. Sharp first realized his musical talents with close friendRudy in Jamaica (R.I.P). He discovered his versatility and way with words and encouraged Sharp 
to battle rival DJ’s in school and local parties. However, it wasn’t until he met up with Empogen high 
school classmate and started writing songs performing at various class parties and Teen Star 
competitions. Being around music watching and listening to his mom singing and playing the guitar 
and was also a die hard fan of reggae great Terror Fabulous was instrumental in his pursuing a 
career in music. Sharp recorded his first song professionally in late 2006 that was followed by a 
string of performances in New York, Toronto, Canada and Atlanta Georgia Sharp now resides in 
Miami Florida joined forces with his cousin Sean Mccorkell and started their own company BBK 
Entertainment notable performances opening act for a few well known reggae stars, Sanchez, 
Capleton and Mr. Vegas to name a few. Sharp is currently working on his debut album entitled “All 
or Nothing” which features the hit single “Money Right”.

Sharp is a music and a sports addict, like reading traveling has a fascination with languages 
currently studying to become fluent in Spanish and of-course has an undying love for the ladies I 
love Y'all.!!!!

 'Reggae 4 Japan' Gets New Date and Heavy Line Up

 

New York, New York -- April 11, 2011--Leading Japanese sound system and ambassador of Reggae music Mighty Crown and their management team Irish and Chin, in conjunction with VP Records, media partner IrieJam Radio and Japanese corporate sponsors Nine Rulaz Line, Woofin' Magazine, Yokohama Trading, 24x7 Records,

Rockers Island and Nesta Clothing, have anchored a new date of June 5, 2011 for the "Reggae 4 Japan" benefit concert at York College in Queens, New York and a heavy line of leading Reggae artists including Maxi Priest, Freddie McGregor and the Big Ship Family, Capleton, Tarrus Riley, Gramps Morgan, Peter Morgan, Alaine, Tanya Stephens, and Etana -- backed by the Ruff Kutt band.  Additional acts are being confirmed, which will make this quite a powerful event.  Since the announcement of "Reggae 4 Japan" more than two weeks ago to rally the Reggae community in support of Japan's earthquake relief,  an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm has ensued.  To better accommodate involvement of artists and music industry professionals, a new date was identified. 

International Reggae singer Maxi Priest says, "Japan is like home and family, as I have been going to Japan since the mid 80's.....I have a lot of close friends in Japan and know people who are directly affected by the disaster."  "Japan has done a lot for the reggae industry, so I am unquestionably involved with 'Reggae 4 Japan' because of my connection and for the sheer love of humanity," concludes Maxi Priest.

"I have been touring Japan for over 25 years and have gone there more than any other artist except Maxi Priest......my first time there was in 1985 for Japan's first Reggae Sunsplash," says iconic Reggae singer Freddie McGregor.  "Since then, I have been traveling to Japan at least 4 times a year....thankfully, I have been extremely popular in Japan due to promotions and recording. I have to give back because of my strong connection to Japan over the years."

 

"In this life, it's all about helping each other....when one is in trouble -- you reach out and help," says Masta Simon, co-owner of Mighty Crown.  "I am forever grateful for the support of the Reggae community in this effort......with such a great need for relief in Japan, I am calling out to all people to help."  "Regardless of one's connection to Japan -- be it Reggae music, electronics, automotive, fashion, etc. -- I am calling on everyone to come out and support," Masta Simon adds passionately.

There has been great devastation in Japan since the earthquake of March 11, which resulted in a barrage of horrific consequences including a tsunami, nuclear power plant explosions and partial meltdown, aftershocks and subsequent earthquakes in April.  Japan's need of assistance is great, as the country aims to repair nuclear plants, provide shelter/food/necessities to citizens, ensure medical care, clean debris and rebuild. To support the ongoing efforts of their homeland in the wake of the disaster, Mighty Crown has been dedicated to converging the Reggae music industry to support Japan.  "Reggae 4 Japan" willsupport humanitarian efforts in Japan, as Mighty Crown will donate proceeds to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief.

Mighty Crown, who was in Japan at the time of the Earthquake, witnessed the impact of the disaster on their homeland. Passionate about aiding Japan, Mighty Crown reached out to the Reggae community and they responded without hesitation.  It's clear that Reggae music is a universal music and force that unites all people. Just as Japan wholeheartedly supports Reggae music and culture, the Reggae music industry/fans support Japan.

Top Reggae music label VP Records has stepped in to give a hand with "Reggae 4 Japan" by urging the involvement of their artists.  As Japan has been a large consumer of VP Records music and home to one of their international offices, they have forged strong ties with Japan over the years.  IrieJam Radio also graciously vowed to garner involvement of radio outlets in the Tri-State area by coordinating advertising efforts and interviews. Other radio stations who have made a bold commitment to "Reggae 4 Japan" include Red Hot Radio, Roadblock Radio and Busy Radio.  All will ensure that "Reggae 4 Japan" is well promoted and attended.

Your favorite Bahamian Reggae artists are back with another exciting compilation album, ‘The Elite Riddim’. Backed by the Culture Coalition, The Elite Riddim features artists Jah Hem, Sammi Starr, Bodine ‘Be’ Johnson, CJ Priest, Jah Nyne, Raquel Oliver and many more.

Jah Hem is yearning for some sweet love with his release ‘Can’t Get Enough’. CJ Priest croons another lover’s rock ballad with ‘Spend My Whole Life’. Bodine ‘Be’ Johnson responds with the song, ‘My Love Won’t Fade’, a reassurance that she will be dedicated to him for better or worse. Biography

Dave A. Munroe aka RAS D a star out of Kingston, Jamaica started writing and performing at a young age.  One of his first songs written that charted was named LASCO it was performed by FLOUREGAN (1997).

He then started performing in many venues across Jamaica which led to a tour of the United States accompanying Andrew Tosh, Son of Steppin' Razor Peter Tosh.

RAS D is now living in Northern California where he has used his international influences to promote and inspire his album which was recorded in Oakland, California, “GIVE SOME LOVE TODAY” débuted (2004).  This album features all original lyrics and music by RAS D.  It includes performances by Andrew Tosh, JR Toots, Brendan Munroe, Under-P and Regina Espinoza.  It was motivated by JAH and fuelled by his passion and experiences touring.  This album encapsulates what is known today as Reggae.

Inspired by the success of his first album and industry accolades, RAS D went on to give us the next innovative album called “LOVE WITH MEANING”. The truly thought provoking songs on this album is true to his roots and keeping his Jamaican message alive.
